Mom’s 80th birthday went really well. I invited all her neighbors and had a huge cook out. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and well as my food. My sister said I should have been a short order cook they way I was handling all the burgers and hot dogs. Yelling come and get it. LOL
My sister drove up from Virginia to be with Mom on her birthday. She is Mom’s baby child. LOL As kids growing up we did not get along very well until we each got married and had kids and let me tell you we became the best of buds. Hello , we each had a baby sitter. lol Our kids were close too, she and I did everything together with them. She and I are still best friends and the kids keep in touch with each other though they are scattered everywhere. I am lucky , all three of mine now live in state with me. just minutes away. Now my sister only has one child living in state with her and the other two, one lives in Alaska, and one in Maine. But just think she gets to go to Alaska for a visit every now and then. I know she will be going to Maine in the next month, because she has a new grandchild coming.
I’ve always wanted to go to Alaska, I really have no excuse other than whew , what a drive with a camper behind you, but hey maybe next year???? I was wondering where to go, so maybe I can start making plans, Right now all I want to do is take it up on the Blueridge Parkway and see the changing of the leaves or as those people who live there call us LEAF LOOKERS. So you think they call you names, but in front of that as you enter a town it says WELCOME LEAF LOOKERS!!! LOL Hubby and I did that one year and we did not make reservations for camping and everything was filled up, so we spent the night you guess it at a W-Mart Parking Lot. Hope to do a better job of planning this year and not just do the take off and go. Take off and go not a good idea without prepration. But the sad part of it is you use could do that and there was room for everybody. Now Reservations, Reservations a MUST. I really should not knock the reservations part of this since my source of income is from an RV Dealership. LOL Selling campers and therefore more reservations.
I’ve done some of my fall decorating outside. I try not to do tacky stuff, even though on Halloween I do have this six foot punkins! LOL Gosh is that Red Neck or what???? Sunday I went to my garden and gathered all my corn stalks and made fatter shocks (not sure how to spell that word) Anyhow , I made three, One for Mom, my friend and myself. Mine and Mom’s is still leaning against the building, I will put them out as Halloween draws close. The neighbor she could not wait, she went ahead and did a fall arrangement with hers. Looks great. She used the corn stalks, flowers, and punkins, looks like something Martha Stewart would do. Very talented lady.
Smoking, I’m not, still hanging in there. Still want to, not really craving the nicotine, just my habit of having it in my hand I guess. Who knows, hopefully I will win this battle and believe you me it is a battle some days. LOL When you have done something for over 30 years it becomes a big part of your life, which I know, I Know was not good for me, I’m just saying I miss the habit?????????????????? Help a little encouragement here. LOL The best thing that has happen to me since I quit is I do not cough or try to cough a lung up in the mornings & my breathing is so much better, so why would one want to go back??? It like the devil and angel thing on your shoulder saying go ahead, no don’t, you know what I mean???? I had a friend ask my hubby if I was doing OK, and he said since she has stopped I’ve only had to pick my head up about six times. I felt so bad, but there is stress with this stopping something you’ve done forever. LOL So since I heard him say that I try to watch how I answer his questions and/or comments.
Everyone please have a great week and I will check on you soon.
