My Friday Off

If this what you call a day off, I really need for someone to tell me how to take a day off!!!

I got up early and cleaned my house, helped my grandson rearrange his room so his stuff would fit in my girlie guest room.  It turned out pretty good.  He has this road sign he hung up that I was not crazy seeing in my girlie room, but he did let me arrange it the way I wanted to so I gave in.  So if anyone needs directions to Flat Woods Road let me know !!! Now the room looks like a teenager lives in there. I still have a few girlie pictures hanging up, I told him if he found something he liked I would take them down.  So far he is doing as I asked, I hope he stays on the straight and narrow until we can get him into college in January.  He’s a good kid, just needs some direction in his life.

Ok, then I grabbed the old bucket and brush and cleaner and proceeded to wash down my Mom’s mobile home.  This home is 14 X 70 so that was 168 feet in lenght I scrubbed down. I don’t know how tall it is.  After I did that I proceeded to clean all of her windows inside and out.  Here is a picture of my work.Look how it shines.  She was so pleased, now she is ready for the winter, Roof is coated , porch is stained, she is good to go.

Here is a picture of her bird feeder I got her for her birthday. Someone asked me who were the two angels and I told them my sister & I. I thought it covered up that old knot in the tree, gave it some character.

Now it is 4:30PM and I head home and take a bath.  Hubby was going to girls football game and asked me if I was going and I told him that would be no, I was too tired to sit on concrete bleachers for three hours, does that make me a bad grandmother?  I was exgausted.

So after I cleaned up I cooked Mom and I a steak on the grill and after supper she and I went on my front porch and had a cup of coffee and just chilled for a little bit.  After we got done we went and cleaned the filter on the fish pond and watered the ferns and then I headed back home and burned some brush where I had trimed some trees in her front yard.

Now here I am telling you all about my day, hope you day off won’t be as hard as mine.  But hey I’ve got all these jobs done and tomorrow I work and maybe I can get some rest. LOL

God Bless you all and have a great week-end.
As Ever,
Pat

Pat, I\’m beginning to think you like to work!  I like the feeling of accomplishment when I\’ve gotten a lot of things done in a day – it makes you feel worthwhile.  You did good!

Love the angel bird feeder – it fits perfectly in the knot hole!  I\’m sure your mom will love watching the birds flit in an out of it.

Just came by to see what all you did again and decided you\’d done enough.  Take a break.  🙂  Loved your pirate name…glad you shared it with me.

  9. Sarah says:

You are SO much more productive than I am!!!

  10. sunee says:

Hi Pat~ now you sound like me, just when I think I have a day off something else arises that needs taken care of. Glad you have your mother close, and that you are there for her, I\’m sure she appreciates you too 🙂   Glad to hear your grandson is coming along well. Thank God for grandparents..!!   Take Care Pat…..

  11. ann says:

Wow you were busy hope you managed a bit of time for your self the next day . xxx

  12. Rambling says:

Patsy me darlin\’…no one can dictate how long you can wear your hair.  That stuff has been going on for years!  If your hair is thick and healthy..looks good, no one can say what length it should be.  It should be where you want it.I have an old sister in law who really needs to have her\’s cut though.  Hers is thin..very.  That looks bad when longer.  That is truly an old wives tale about hummingbirds hitching a ride on the backs of other birds.  I promise.  Scouts honor.  The fly on their own, non stop.

  13. Bev says:

Ummmm….now you need a day of vacation to get over your day off, right??  Good grief woman!!  I got worn out just READING what all you did.  What a blessing that you still have your Momma, and what a blessing you are to her.  You are a wonderful, loving daughter!!  Your Momma\’s home looks wonderful and now she can head into winter knowing all is well.

I love you my friend!!  Thanks for your encouragement.  It has meant the world to me.

  15. Ronald C says:

I\’m a former WV\’er; although have since had a somewhat unscheduled relocation.

I formerly resided about 15 miles or so west of the capitol;not far from 64. I was curious as to what part (in very general terms please- perhaps county) of the state you would happen to be from?

In closing… Good site and entries! Did I mention my former neighbor has a mobile home that costs in excess of 100k. Go figure?

  16. Patricia says:

Now, I\’m tired again…lol…have been taking a break from some chores I need to get done…want it done before the really cold weather comes…
and love the way you take care of your mother…you are both blessed…
and thanks for your visits and nice comments…appreciate them and you…

  17. Charlotte says:

Would the term "workaholic" fit you?  At least I must say I envy you all your energy!  I am sure your mom appreciates how you help out and cleaned for her.  There is nothingmore wonderful than having a clean home.  You take care.. get some rest and have a great rest of the week. hugs, lottemae
